Hello, I’m Tam  the face behind Blu Inked Studios.

Blu Inked was created from a very personal place. As a mum of three and a carer for my eldest child, who has additional needs, a normal 9–5 was never really possible for me. I needed to build something that allowed me to work around my children, while also giving me purpose, creativity and freedom.

I have always been creative Over the years I tried different paths from upcycling furniture to handmade homeware for artisan markets around Essex. I loved creating unique pieces, but nothing ever felt like the thing I was truly meant to do.

A few years ago, after feeling like I had tried so much and nothing had fully worked out, I told my mum, “This is the last thing I’m going to try.” I came across fine line tattoo training for SPMU artists, which I already had a background in, and decided to go for it.

It turned out to be the best decision I ever made.

Tattooing doesn’t feel like work to me I genuinely love what I do meeting people, hearing their stories, and being trusted with artwork that often carries deep personal meaning. Whether it is a tiny symbol, a sentimental handwritten piece, matching tattoos, or something chosen completely from intuition, I feel grateful every time someone chooses me to create it.

Blu Inked is also named in memory of my son, Levi Blu, who I lost a few years ago. His name is part of the heart of this business, and Blu Inked has become more than just a tattoo studio  it is something deeply meaningful to me.

I have always been a spiritual person, and after losing Levi I found myself drawn more deeply into readings, tarot, spiritual events and symbolism. This naturally led me to create my intention tattoo experiences, where tattoos are chosen with meaning, energy and purpose.

With intention tattoos, you can choose from my flash book, pick symbols you feel drawn to, or allow me to pull a tarot card and select a design connected to the message of the card. At the end of the experience, I can also tie a thread around your wrist with a positive intention. The thread is left on until it naturally falls away, symbolising that the intention has served its purpose. This part is completely optional.

Alongside fine line, handpoke and intention tattoos, I also offer small custom pieces, normal flash designs, sentimental handwriting tattoos, “all you can ink” sessions from 1 to 5 hours, piercings, powder brows, scar and stretch mark camouflage, and herbal peels.

My herbal peels are especially suited to clients looking to improve concerns such as acne, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone and melanin-rich skin concerns.

I also teach fine line tattooing to complete beginners and SPMU artists, with ongoing support and plenty of knowledge shared throughout the course.

My studio is a quiet, one-to-one space designed to feel calm, personal and welcoming. I want every client to feel comfortable, listened to and never rushed.
